AWeber Crash Course 4.0 review: a modest, honest how-to course that is now three years old

AWeber Crash Course 4.0 is a three-hour, seven-lesson screen-recorded course on setting up the AWeber email service. It launched on JVZoo in July 2023 for about $10, with resale rights included. It's one of the few JVZoo products we've checked that teaches a specific tool rather than promising income.

Our verdict (editorial opinion)

A real, narrow software tutorial with no reported refunds. Its main risk is age. JVZoo showed a 0.0% refund rate on 250+ front-end sales (OTO Ledger, 21 Oct 2026). The vendor describes concrete lessons: lists, opt-in forms, templates, campaigns, landing pages, animated GIFs, copying emails. It was recorded for the 2023 version of AWeber, and its resale rights mean the same videos are offered elsewhere.

Price and upgrades

The JV page advertises affiliate earnings of “up to $130 per referral”, which implies upsells well above the front end; we did not find their prices.

What it covers

From the vendor's sales page: creating a list and adding the opt-in form code to a website, custom opt-in forms, email templates and broadcasts, automated campaigns, landing pages, animated GIFs in emails, and copying messages. The page says it applies to both the free and paid versions of AWeber. AWeber's plans and screens may have changed since 2023; check against AWeber's current help pages before relying on any step.

What “PLR” actually means

Private Label Rights (PLR) is a licence to put your own name on content someone else wrote and to edit and sell it. It is not exclusivity. The same pack is sold to every buyer, and resellers often pass it on again, so you will compete with other copies of the same text. Related licences are narrower. Resell rights (RR) let you sell the product as it is. Master resell rights (MRR) also let your buyers resell it. Neither usually lets you change the content. The exact terms are in the licence file that comes with each pack, and different sellers of the “same” product can attach different terms. Read that file before you rebrand anything. Buying PLR saves writing time. It does not give you an audience, a unique product or an income.

This course is sold with “Master Transferable PLR Rights”, meaning anyone who buys it can resell it with the same rights. As an example, PLR Database lists the full course for its members, added on 21 July 2023, two days after the launch. Its sales page also suggests charging clients “$75 to $300” to set up AWeber accounts, which is the vendor's suggestion and not a figure we checked.

Claims versus evidence

We did not buy the product.
ClaimWhat we found
Takes anyone “from Zero to Hero in 3 hours or less”A marketing line, but the scope is small and concrete, so plausible for basic setup.
Become “an AWeber Authority”Watching a 3-hour course doesn't make anyone an authority; the skills are entry-level.
30-day no-hassle money-back guaranteeStated on the sales page; the 0.0% refund rate means we can't see how it works in practice.

Vendor track record

The vendor runs a small site of AWeber and opt-in courses (Basic, Advanced, JV tools). The jupiterjim.courses homepage itself is an unedited WordPress “Hello world!” page from 2018, which looks neglected but tells you nothing about the course. The 2023 launch ran an affiliate contest with a $500 top prize, and its JV rules forbid affiliates to use spam, solo ads or “negative” scam-keyword ads.

JVZoo marketplace figures: "OTO Ledger" refers to the third-party JVZoo tracker otoledger.com, which captured JVZoo's affiliate listing data on 21 Oct 2026. Its "median" is the median refund rate across the JVZoo funnels it tracks (6.71%). Refund rates are percentages of sales that were refunded as published by JVZoo; they are not a measure of product quality on their own, but a rate far above the median means many buyers asked for their money back.

Is AWeber Crash Course a scam or legit?

Legitimate, as far as the evidence goes: a clear syllabus, a low price and no refunds reported. The questions are whether you need it, since AWeber publishes its own free help and video tutorials, and whether 2023 recordings still match the app.

What we like

  • Specific, practical syllabus
  • About $10
  • 0.0% refund rate (OTO Ledger, 21 Oct 2026)
  • Transcripts and checklists

What to watch out for

  • Recorded in 2023
  • Small sample (250+ front-end sales)
  • Free official AWeber tutorials cover the same ground
  • PLR copies circulate elsewhere
