Scott Smith YouTube Automation review: a $5k–$7k mentorship with extra per-video costs and little independent evidence
Scott Smith (“Scott Smith YTA”) teaches faceless “YouTube automation” channels and sells a one-to-one mentorship by sales call. The seller's site blocked our fetches, so this review relies on what members and prospects report on Reddit and Trustpilot. There is very little of it, and it is mixed.

Our verdict (editorial opinion)
Too little independent evidence for a firm verdict; the reports we found are mixed. We found one member who reports results and two who say they were disappointed. Users report a mentorship price of $5,000–$7,000 plus about $70–$75 for each produced video. Check the total cost before any call.

The short version
- What it is: mentorship on building faceless YouTube channels, with access to vetted writers, editors and voice-over people, per a prospect who took the sales call (r/CreatorCEO).
- Price: not published. Users report “around 5-6k”, “$5-7k”, “$5600” and “$6,000”.
- Extra costs: users report about $70 per video (one prospect) or “$75 for EACH video” (one member), with 2–4 videos a week recommended.
- Trustpilot: 3.0 from 2 reviews, unclaimed profile (31 Oct 2026).
Not enough third-party information to reach a full verdict
We looked for independent evidence and did not find enough to judge whether this product does what it says. Most of what is published about it comes from the vendor or from affiliates who earn a commission if you buy. Here is exactly what we checked and what was missing.
What we checked
- The seller's site theescottsmith.com (blocked to direct requests; an Apify fetch returned no text)
- Trustpilot profile for theescottsmith.com (2 reviews)
- Three Reddit threads (r/CreatorCEO, r/youtube, r/NewTubers)
- YouTube search: three videos found, titles only, not watched
- BBB and FTC/state records: nothing found for this seller in our public-record list
What was missing
- The official price, contract and refund terms
- Any independent count of members who earn back the fee
- A BBB profile
Claims that need corroboration before a fair verdict is possible
- Income examples such as “$93k+ from single videos” that a Trustpilot reviewer says appear in his content
- That the recommended production team delivers professional-quality videos
If you have bought this product, we would like to hear what you received, what you paid in total and whether a refund was honoured. Contact us. We will update this page when better evidence exists.
What it costs in total
| Item | Reported cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Mentorship | $5,000–$7,000 | r/CreatorCEO, r/youtube, r/NewTubers, Trustpilot |
| Produced video | ≈$70–$75 each | r/CreatorCEO commenters |
| At 2–4 videos a week | ≈$560/month or more | r/CreatorCEO prospect's estimate |
One r/CreatorCEO commenter who took the call estimated “at a minimum, you're looking to have to spend $560/month (excluding the 5-6k program cost)”. They added: “I did not sign up.”
What members and prospects say
About the allegations on this page. Statements from Reddit, Trustpilot or YouTube users are their own opinions or accounts. We quote or summarise them with a link and date; we have not verified them, and we do not present them as fact.
- r/CreatorCEO: “Scott Smith YouTube Automation – Legit or Just Hard to Verify?”: the poster describes their take as “mixed but leaning skeptical” and notes a lack of independent reviews. A commenter who says they paid writes: “Scott hires people to do the thumbnails, voiceover and video editing BUT you pay $75 for EACH video.”
- r/youtube: “Has anyone joined the faceless yt coaching by Scott Smith?”: one commenter who says they have been in the mentorship “for a few months” is “definitely seeing results” and recommends it, but says “Deadlines slip sometimes” and replies on Trello are slow. Asked about copyright problems, they reply: “No. They delivered high quality videos. No copyright.”
- r/NewTubers: “Scott Smith YTA YouTube Automation Mentorship Review…”: the poster, who says they paid for the “$6,000 mentorship”, writes: “I do not believe the program delivered value anywhere close to its price”. They say five separately paid videos had “blurry and excessively zoomed footage, visible third-party logos”, and add: “This is my personal experience, and others may have different results.” A commenter says they “also paid for this mentorship and was highly disappointed”, and that “it feels like he ghosts you afterwards.”
- Trustpilot: two reviews, average 3.0. One (Aug 2026) is the same account as the r/NewTubers post. The other (May 2025, titled “Not so sure if it's a scam or not”) lists positives, such as substantial free content and legitimate tools, alongside concerns that income claims “seem ambitious” and that there is “Limited transparency around success rates”. Trustpilot's panel says the company has not invited customers recently, “so reviews may not be representative”. With so few reviews, the score tells you very little.
We excluded an r/NewTubers thread about a different “YouTube accelerator” course, and a YouTube video titled “Exposing The YouTube Automation Scam” that does not clearly concern this seller.
The seller's side
We could not read the seller's terms, guarantee or published results, because theescottsmith.com blocked our requests. Scott Smith publishes free YouTube automation content on his own channel (Scott Smith YTA), which the May 2025 Trustpilot reviewer credits as substantial and practical. One prospect says the sales call showed “a lot of great case studies”. We will add the seller's terms and guarantee if he sends them.
Our verdict
We are withholding a verdict. Three paying members have posted publicly: one positive, two negative. That is far too few to judge a program at this price. What would change this: published terms and refund policy, a verifiable share of members who recoup the fee, and more independent member reports. Until then, budget for the mentorship and months of per-video production, and get every deliverable in writing.
What we like
- Free YouTube content lets you judge the teaching first
- One member reports results and good video quality
- Production team handles editing and voice-over
What to watch out for
- $5k–$7k reported price, not published
- ≈$70–$75 per video on top
- Two members report poor value or communication
- Terms and refund policy not visible to us
