Kevin David Amazon FBA review: read the FTC record before you buy anything
Kevin David sold Amazon FBA training (often around $2,000, per buyers) alongside higher-priced “done for you” Amazon store packages through DK Automation. In 2022 the FTC sued the company and its owners. We read the FTC's press release and case page, three Reddit threads, Trustpilot and two YouTube reviews with comments.

Our verdict (editorial opinion)
The FTC sued the seller's company and owners over deceptive earnings claims and suppressing negative reviews, and they agreed to a court order. The order required at least $2.6 million for refunds, with a total judgment of nearly $53 million partly suspended. Buyer accounts of the course are mixed to negative. Because reviews were manipulated according to the FTC, treat older positive reviews with care.

The FTC case, read from the FTC's own pages
Per the FTC's November 2022 press release, the FTC alleged that DK Automation and its owners Kevin David Hulse and David Shawn Arnett used “unfounded claims of big returns” to sell Amazon business packages (sold as AMZDFY, Amazon Done For You and Amazon Done With You, at up to $100,000), business coaching and a crypto trading service. The complaint alleges they deceived consumers about earnings, falsified positive reviews and flagged negative ones for removal, offered refunds on condition that complaints be removed, threatened to sue a dissatisfied customer, and did not give disclosures required by the Business Opportunity Rule. The FTC says they continued after receiving Notices of Penalty Offenses.
The defendants agreed to a stipulated order that bans deceptive earnings claims, bars them from restricting reviews or complaints, and requires at least $2.6 million for refunds; the total judgment of nearly $53 million was partly suspended due to inability to pay. The FTC's case page adds that the FTC later sent $2.8 million in refunds to consumers. A stipulated order is a settlement; the press release does not say the defendants admitted the allegations.
What buyers report
About the allegations on this page. Statements from Reddit, Trustpilot or YouTube users are their own opinions or accounts. We quote or summarise them with a link and date; we have not verified them, and we do not present them as fact.
- r/Coffeezilla_gg, Jan 2021: u/Ketotrimer, reposting their own Trustpilot review, says they paid $2,000, that the 14-day return policy required them to “PROVE you tried the program fully”, that they were told to have $5,000 for stock, and that an accounting firm reached through the training tried to charge “over $1000”.
- r/AmazonSeller, Aug 2021: u/TehPurpleCod says they paid thousands for the Silver program and it was “a complete waste of money”, adding “I can't say it's a scam” and that the basic course would have been enough.
- r/AmazonSeller, Dec 2019: a user asks whether the course is worth about $2,000; no buyer in the thread answers from experience.
- YouTube, May 2020: a reviewer who says they bought the course walks through its modules. A 2019 review is by someone who says in the comments he “worked for Kevin in the past and did Sales for him”, so it is not independent; another commenter in that video offers the course for $400, which we excluded.
Not enough third-party information to reach a full verdict
We looked for independent evidence and did not find enough to judge whether this product does what it says. Most of what is published about it comes from the vendor or from affiliates who earn a commission if you buy. Here is exactly what we checked and what was missing.
What we checked
- FTC press release and case page (primary sources)
- Trustpilot: no profile at kevindavid.com
- Reddit threads kz27o2, ow1g1h and e7y7jt
- Two YouTube reviews (one transcript, 13 comments)
What was missing
- The current course price and refund terms from the seller
- Independent outcome data for course buyers
Claims that need corroboration before a fair verdict is possible
- User-reported prices and refund conditions
- Any claim the FTC order covers specific course versions; the FTC names the company and owners, not individual course products
If you have bought this product, we would like to hear what you received, what you paid in total and whether a refund was honoured. Contact us. We will update this page when better evidence exists.
The seller's side
The defendants settled with the FTC through a stipulated order rather than going to trial. Some buyers and the course walk-through reviewer describe the training content as detailed, and one critic says he can't call it a scam. We will publish a response from Kevin David or his company if they send one.
Our verdict
Caution. The FTC's record is the main fact here: a settled federal case over earnings claims and review manipulation, with millions returned to consumers. Buyer reports of the course itself are mixed to negative and mention extra costs. If you still consider any Kevin David program, get the price, refund terms and any income claims in writing, and do not rely on testimonials.
What we like
- Detailed course modules, per one buyer's walk-through
- FTC order now bans deceptive earnings claims and review restrictions
What to watch out for
- FTC case over deceptive earnings claims and review suppression
- ≈$2,000 course plus stock and service costs, per buyers
- Strict refund conditions, per a buyer
- Positive reviews may be unreliable, per the FTC's allegations
