Who he is and what he sells

  • Business: Millionaire Media LLC. BBB has had a file on it since December 2014 and lists Timothy Sykes as managing partner (BBB profile, read 5 Nov 2026).
  • Products: the Trading Challenge (application-only, price not published), plus subscriptions sold on Profit.ly, such as Tim's Alerts at $74.95 a month and Pennystocking Silver at about $150 a month (seller prices, 5 Nov 2026).
  • Our course review: Tim Sykes Trading Challenge review covers the price reports, refund complaints and student accounts in detail.

What Sykes and his company say (their claims)

  • The origin story. Sykes's long-running marketing says he turned about $12,000 into $2 million trading. A Reddit user who discovered trading through him in 2014 quotes the same YouTube title (r/tradingpsychology, Oct 2026). We have not seen brokerage records, so this is his claim, not a verified fact.
  • Results “can be verified upon request”. The company says this about its published results; we have not audited any.
  • Risk warnings. His pages say “Results are not typical” and that “most active traders lose money”, and his earnings claims disclosure says “there is no guarantee that you will earn any money”.
  • Education, not advice. The company describes itself as an educational publisher, not an investment adviser.

Supporters and critics

About the allegations on this page. Statements from Reddit, Trustpilot or YouTube users are their own opinions or accounts. We quote or summarise them with a link and date; we have not verified them, and we do not present them as fact.

Opinions are the named posters' own. We picked examples from each side, so the table does not show what share of people hold each view.

Public record

  • Regulators: we found no FTC or SEC enforcement action naming Timothy Sykes or Millionaire Media (searched 5 Nov 2026). A 2014 Reddit comment says he was fined by the SEC in 2006; we found no primary record of that, so it remains unverified.
  • Scanz Technologies v. JewMon Enterprises et al., S.D. Fla. No. 1:20-cv-22957: a 2020 trade-secrets dispute between software businesses that named Sykes and Millionaire Media among the defendants. The defendants' motion to dismiss denied the claims. The case settled in 2021 and was dismissed. No court found anyone liable.
  • Moses v. Millionaire Media LLC, N.D. Cal. No. 3:25-cv-02654: a 2025 proposed class action about marketing texts under the TCPA (govinfo.gov; docket). It was terminated on 21 July 2025. We found no public judgment or settlement terms and draw no conclusion from it.
  • BBB: not accredited; 4 complaints in 3 years, all marked answered or resolved (5 Nov 2026).

Sykes's side

Sykes has answered the business-model criticism for years by saying that education is his business and that he warns students about risk. That is consistent with what we read. Every page carries a risk warning, his teaching stresses cutting losses, and his company responded to the BBB complaints we read. Several critics on Reddit acknowledge his emphasis on risk. We will publish any factual response from him or his company.

What we could not verify

  • His personal trading record, including the $12,000-to-$2 million claim.
  • Typical student results. Success stories are selected by the seller.
  • The current Trading Challenge price and refund terms, which are not published.
  • Pump-and-dump and SEC-fine claims by Reddit users. We found no primary record.
  • Fresh, detailed first-hand accounts from 2025–2026. Most detailed Reddit threads are from 2014–2021.

Corrections and right of reply. If you are Timothy Sykes or represent the seller, or you think anything here is wrong or out of date, email hello@active-learning-site.com with the page and a source. We will check it, correct the page if needed and publish a factual response from the seller.
