Booming Bookkeeping Business review: a free challenge that leads to a roughly $5,000 no-refund mentorship
Booming Bookkeeping Business is a bookkeeping-business training program run by Bill Von Fumetti, a CPA in Redondo Beach, California. Most people meet it through the free five-day Keyboard Rich Challenge, which ends with an offer to join the paid mentorship. We read the seller's pages and terms, the BBB profile, both Trustpilot profiles and the Reddit threads we could find.

Our verdict (editorial opinion)
Real business, positive reviews, but a large no-refund purchase sold at the end of a free challenge. BBB rates the company A- with 7 complaints in three years. Both Trustpilot profiles score highly, and the seller invites reviews there. Reddit and Trustpilot users put the mentorship at about $5,000, and the terms say payments are non-refundable. Decide on the price before Day 4 of the challenge, not during it.

The short version

- Price: not published. Reddit and Trustpilot users report about $5,000 (see below); one r/Scams commenter says “nearly $6,000”.
- Refunds: the terms say “Payments are non-refundable and all sales are final unless otherwise indicated.”

The Keyboard Rich Challenge funnel
The Keyboard Rich Challenge page advertises a FREE five-day live challenge (the next one runs 2–6 November 2026, 9am Pacific, about 90 minutes a day). Day 3 includes a free QuickBooks account and Day 5 a “3-question script” for finding clients. The page mentions optional paid help but shows no mentorship price.
The page claims bookkeeping offers “99% profit margins”, contrasts it with MLMs where “only 1–10% … ever make a profit”, and says the average bookkeeping business owner makes “well OVER $100,000”, citing an Intuit figure of “$76/hour”. We could not trace those figures to an independent study. The same page's disclaimer says: “The average person who follows any ‘how to’ information gets little to no results.”
According to participants, paid tiers appear during the week. A Trustpilot reviewer (27 Sep 2026) describes basic and premium VIP passes and says that on Day 4 “the schpeel came” for the mentorship, presented as worth “$17,000+” for $5,000. A Reddit commenter (r/Bookkeeping_Business) asks whether the VIP is “just more sales pitches for the full course?”; another objects to being asked to “spend 200 a month”. We could not confirm what that monthly amount refers to.
What the seller says
- “Trained over 8,000 men and women in 6 countries since 2018” and calls bookkeeping the “#1 most profitable small business on the planet*”, footnoted to Forbes, Inc and Entrepreneur (homepage). We did not find those articles.
- Names student success stories, including “Valerie … 6-fig business in 6 months”. These are the seller's selected examples.
- Terms §5, “No Results Guarantee”: it “cannot guarantee specific results, such as income levels”, and says it is not an accredited institution.
- Terms §16: mandatory binding arbitration and a class-action waiver. The terms also say that if a card issuer reverses a charge, “we may bill you directly”.
What buyers and participants say
About the allegations on this page. Statements from Reddit, Trustpilot or YouTube users are their own opinions or accounts. We quote or summarise them with a link and date; we have not verified them, and we do not present them as fact.
BBB
The BBB profile lists Booming Bookkeeping Business, LLC (business started 29 Dec 2020) with an A- rating, “NOT BBB Accredited”, “7 complaints filed with BBB in the last 3 years, 3 of them in the last 12 months” and 8 customer reviews. The three reviews shown are positive. We could not open the complaint texts, so we can't say what they concern or how they were resolved. BBB notes that complaint counts should be read against a company's size.
Trustpilot
Keyboard Rich Challenge: 4.9 from 944 reviews (3 one-star, 903 five-star in the Apify scrape). Booming Bookkeeping Business: 4.7 from 169 reviews. Both profiles are claimed with a paid Trustpilot subscription. Trustpilot's own profile panel says this company “invites their customers to review, whether positive or negative”, so many reviews come from invitations sent by the seller. That is allowed by Trustpilot, but it means the score reflects whom the seller chose to invite. Both panels also say the company “Hasn’t replied to negative reviews”.
- Most reviews praise Bill's teaching and the support. Several mention the VIP pass and the mentorship cost; one says it is “a bit on the expensive side but … well worth it”.
- An unprompted reviewer (dated 22 Oct 2025) says they paid about a year earlier, that the videos were “dated and not Bill”, mostly teach toward Intuit certifications, and that main support is a Facebook page: “Not enough training or support to even get a client.”
- An unprompted reviewer (23 Oct 2026) points out that both profiles cover “the exact same offer … the exact same presenter” and calls this deceptive. That is the reviewer's opinion. Two profiles for one funnel do mean you should not add the counts together as independent evidence.
- r/Bookkeeping_Business: “It’s only day 3 of the Keyboard Rich Challenge…”: the poster is enthusiastic. One commenter calls it “a solid 5-day sampler” and advises: “Do this as a test before dropping $$$ on BBB program.” Another says continuing with the course “costs almost 5k I believe”.
- r/Scams: “‘Keyboard Rich’ 5 day challenge” (removed by moderators as low effort): several commenters call it a scam, one saying participants “have to pay nearly $6,000 to proceed”. These are opinions, not findings. One commenter defends it, describing “350 video courses”, a free QuickBooks subscription and being allowed to pay in instalments.
YouTube
We found five YouTube reviews (Best Side Hustles with Alex, FinePoints, Kyle, Rachel and Flip Jinx; the last is titled “This YouTube Ad is a misleading scam.”). We read titles only and did not watch them, so we do not rely on their content.
Our verdict
The evidence points to a real, operating training business with many satisfied participants and a modest BBB complaint record. The concerns are about the sales model rather than the existence of the training: a free challenge that builds to a roughly $5,000 decision, a price we could not find published, a no-refund policy with arbitration, and review profiles the seller populates by invitation. If you take the challenge, set your budget first, ask for the full price, payment plan and refund terms in writing, and remember that Intuit's own QuickBooks ProAdvisor training is free.
